Utillian 420 Video Review
Is the Utillian 420 worth it?
The Utillian 420 portable vaporizer for dry herbs is a more affordable version of the popular upscale unit the Utillian 620.
The Utillian 420 doesn’t have the expensive components or high-end features that its older siblings do. However, it’s still a good choice for anyone that’s new to vaporizing, and it does just about everything you’d expect it to for a device that has a price tag of under $100. It is well made, looks like a cool little flask, and also boasts a metal finish, not plastic, which is a plus. Is it the perfect choice for beginners buying their first portable vaporizer, though?

What Comes With the Utillian 420?
Including the device itself, the Utillian 420 comes with your standard mini USB charge cord, two screens for replacements that fit onto the mouthpiece, a tool for packing your favorite dry herbs and neatly as possible and a rubber attachment that covers the part of the mouthpiece that’s metal. Utillian gives you a choice of one of three colors for your device, black, silver or titanium. The 420 comes with a 1-year warranty, which isn’t the greatest – but as with anything in life, of course you get what you pay for.
Battery Life
You might expect a smaller, budget-priced portable vaporizer to have a weak battery, but that’s not the case with the Utillian 420. The Utillian 420’s battery is a solid 1700 mAh, and is made from lithium. Most users seem to agree that the Utillian 420 lasts for about a full hour’s worth of continuous usage. Depending on how long your typical Utillian Vape session lasts; you’re looking at a solid four or five sessions until you’ll need to recharge this portable vaporizer. The battery on the Utillian 420 cannot be removed or swapped out, but you might expect that when it comes to a device at this affordable of a price tag.
Is it easy to use?
The Utillian 420 is user-friendly and easy to operate. The digital display is lit well and not hard to read. At a compact size of 2 by 4 inches, it should fit in your palm with ease and should be relatively discreet. There is only one button to press to use the unit, so it keeps confusion to a minimum. To turn the device on, just hit the power button quickly five times, and the Utillian 420 starts heating up on its own. If you want to turn the unit off, just follow the same steps as turning it on – or just leave it alone, because its automatic shut off feature will power the unit down on its own after ten minutes of not using it.
For what it is, the Utillian has a good heat up time of about 20 seconds. Sure, there are a lot of portable vaporizers available that heat up a lot faster than that, but they are going to cost a lot more. The Utillian 420 has four different temperature settings of 190 degrees Celsius, 200 degrees Celsius, 210 degrees Celsius and 220 degrees Celsius. The unit only displays temperatures in Celsius for some reason, which really isn’t a big deal.
Utillian 420 Vapor Quality
Obviously since it’s a low priced unit, it’s not going to be on the same level as some of the higher end portable vaporizer models, but that’s okay for most users who seem to like the Utillian 420. It can be a bit lacking in taste and smoothness when you try to vape at the highest temperature, but that is to be expected if you understand vaporization.
With most Vaporizers that use conduction heating, we always recommend grinding your dry herbs down as finely as possible to ensure you’re getting the best possible tokes. This is also the case with the Utillian 420. This device thrives on low and slow tokes, and you will get the best flavor and tastiest clouds on the two lower settings and by slowly inhaling. The mouthpiece made of glass keeps the hits tasty, fresh and pure – especially when you are taking low and slow rips. The fact that the chamber is made from ceramic also helps keep the vapor quality at a relatively high level for this affordable of a vape.
The device holds its own relatively at higher temps, but it is an inexpensive conduction unit, so big tokes at the highest temp will likely be a bit harsh for most users. As far as vapor production, you’ll get decent sized clouds when vaping with the Utillian 420 – nothing special, but nothing to notably complain about for the price, either.
Utillian 420 Pros
• Easy to use.
• Compact design that looks cool and fits nicely in the palm of most users’ hands.
• The vapor quality is above average at the low to medium temps, especially when compared to other vapes in its price range.
• Metal finish, not plastic. Comes in three different colors.
• Ten minute automatic shut off feature
• Compatible with Utillian Universal Glass Bubbler
Utillian 420 Cons
• Budget price point puts limitations on vape options.
• Slightly more bulky than some of its competitors, despite being compact.
• Not compatible with concentrates.
• Conduction heating can be harsh on the throat if you like to take big rips.
• The mouthpiece made of glass isn’t secure when tucked away in the storage compartment, as it tends to move around when not extended outward for toking.

You have to clean with a toothbrush and water pipe cleaner or rubbing alcohol once a week or more to use for a year and a half and still going.
Here is a comparison review we did for the Utillian 420 vs 421
I bought this weed vape as my first and it works ok I’m just not sure how to clean it exactly I have it for one month now and the air flow is not as good as usual.
Does any1 know how the Utillian 420 vs 421 vape is in comparison? I was thinking about buying this 1 but the 421 is newer so I don’t know if I should get that one instead of a different vape entirely.
I bought this as my first cannabis vaporizer and I’m a medical cannabis user. I would say it’s a good device for starters but it doesn’t quite keep up with my lifestyle of constant use throughout the day. My typical routine is smoke at 9AM, 12, 3, and at 9. I work at home so maybe it would just be better to get a weed vape that plugs into the wall instead. Does anyone here have experience with the Arizer Extreme vape? thanks
Lit af it’s the 420 vape lol how can u not like it? Package got to my dorm fast an am happy with it.
I found the results to be GREATLY improved when using a dedicated herb grinder. I was using scissors for the longest time but got the Cali Crusher grinder yesterday and WOW a complete world of difference. I was having a hard time getting much results and then I got the grinder and BOOM its perfect completely different.
Good 4 the money but I think I’ll upgrade vapes since I use a lot of weed and want something that hits harder with better battery life. Does anyone know how the Utillian 420 vs boundless cfx is? I was thinking of getting that one and it has a big chamber I hear and better so I just wanted 2 c is anyone has experience with both.
I bought this vape and then a friend went to buy the Dynavap vape and to be honest I think that one is better? Accept this one uses batteries which I like a lot better but that one hits a lot harder and uses less weed so I think I should get it.
Fast shipping A+++ customer service I really like it thanks a lot
I think its alright but I went to buy the new Utillian 620 which in my opinions is so so so much better than this one and not too much more expensive. Get that one I think it’s a lot better than this im going to sell mine.
Is there any way I can smoke hash with the Utillian 420?
The 420 doesn’t have a wax canister but you can sandwich the hash between your herb and place in the chamber. Not recommended but we’ve seen it done.
